I HATE most pet images.
But, I love this one.
Not sure about Silky or Smooth, but, photographically speaking this is a great image. Deserves to be available for a print.
I normally give out detailed critiques, but, for now I am just giving out scores. 7 | Photographer found comment helpful. |

How can I tell if these athletes want to actually be in the game? I can not tell by there back side. For all I know you have three kids in uniforms looking out into an empty field.
I could of received more info if you had at the very least one of these athletes with some emotion on their face. Sports is about emotion, not clean uniforms.
comp ok, light flat, color excellent, dof good, great texture, emotional value poor, overall a boring image. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/11/2007 11:16:32 AM | Reachby HipychikComment: yep, she has an ass, but why should I care?
I want to see emotion. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat. I can care less for her back side.
comp good, texture good, light good, emotional value poor, color excellent, movement ok, overall could be better | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/11/2007 11:11:28 AM | Man, That’s a Mighty Big Leadby hyperfocalComment: Yeah, that's what he's thinking alright.
comp could be a bit tighter, too much negative space on left. After all, you want the focus strictly on the athlete and not the bg. Dof excellent, color excellent, fence line cutting through athlete distracting and unwanted, great texture, good light, emotional value excellent, nice movement, over all even though this is not an "ACTION" shot as the description dictates, this is a good image. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/11/2007 11:07:06 AM | Throw from Thirdby mpreslarComment: There is this guideline to sport photography.
You have basically qualified this image within the guidelines except for a couple things.
First, especially when the ball is in play, it needs to be very crisp. The reason is that, as in this image, the ball will distort and detail is lost. The same goes with the athlete. A higher shuuter speed would of solved this issue.
Secondly, a tighter crop. There is too much negative space on the left. The fence is distracting. If the bg was less dynamic, more static, then the negative space would of worked. It does not in this case.
And last, your title says "Throw from Third". I see the throw, but where is third? The title does not match the image.
Comp could be better, color good, whites blown, blacks too deep, texture good, light ok, capture could be better, crisper, emotional value excellent, dof excellent, movement excellent, overall a great attempt. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

comp good, emotional value ok, blacks way deep, whites muddy, nice texture, light ok, dof excellent, nice movement, great capture, crisp, overall an average image | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 05/11/2007 10:53:37 AM | Houston, we have lift offby bob_bobskiComment: It looks like you used a selective coloration to this image which is against the basic rules set.
Excellent capture, great com, great emotional value, light flat, good texture of the waves, crip enough, overall a good image. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
