The elements are there...a monkey, a calendar. For me it fails as a still life. The black backgound is dull but the absence of beatiful light is what kills it imo...and the ladder, I don't get the ladder.

I don't know if that was your intention and I don't care one way or the other. Just for making me expand my knowledge today, I'm giving you a 6...nope, a 7. I like the title too...it's that title that made me learn something unexpected today. Technically, this could do with a tad more contrast maybe?
