The Black Seaby bruskiComment: (from a non-voter, sorry - but your image is worth a comment!)
This is a lovely scene. The only thing that lowers its impact is the tremendous amount of noise - particularly in the clouds. Heavy (or any, sometimes!) use of "Contrast" will result in noise. If filters are permitted - you might want to try Neat Image (free download). It has a tendency to oversoften the image, but I compensate by using Curves in my editing program one last time before final save.
Even noisy, this is a stunning image. |

Hook of Rustby ApeeComment: background is too busy and too odd a color - maybe more "pop" to the hook????? 7 |

Forged for strengthby kevrobertsonComment: In this case, clarity on only one item is isn't quite working. Perhaps if it had been a larger piece in ratio......... |

metal on metalby Jade 11Comment: Cripe, how did you manage to avoid major flares of light on the foil planes?!!! Nicely done! Oddly reflected items in the spoons, though. Still - a good one! 7 |

Weather forecast metalby luckykg862000Comment: I think I wouldn't have shown so much of the pan's sides - especially from the top. As it stands, all the edges detract from the contrasts between the metal and the stone. The water drops are a nice touch. 6 |

It is metal and has holes. What is it?by ladpupmoeComment: If this were really "real", it'd be colored reddish - my scarred fingertips will attest to that.
Mom went back to work, and I became the family cook - Scalloped Potatoes and Ham was in the weekly rotation.
The flat look of the image lowers my score (along with the coloring.) There was a high potential for DOF ("climbing" the holes - sharp angle from bottom.) And a high potential for higher dynamics by using the corner. I'm assuming that this was the "Tower" style.
But the shine and reflection (showing your mettle for metal) are terrific. 6 |
