Wherever...Wheneverby kevrobertsonComment: There's a strange and creepy blueness that swamps the photo. And the red and green seem too intensly saturated too. It seems to me that the textures and shapes might make this photo more than than colors, in which case B&W might make for a stronger presentation. |

Indy Thinkerby fulgentComment: Perfect DOF. Nice expression. Exquisite lighting. Oh how I wish that second mouth and moustache could have been magically removed. Took a while to see them, but they are kind of distracting. Still, a great effort |

Conquering Acrophobiaby CutterComment: It can be extremely difficult to capture, from the top of a mountain, the grandeur one experiences. Usually when one adds figures to these kinds of lanscapes they are distant so we get a sense of scale. The subject is nestled nicely into the powerful part of the photo. and the exposure is perfect, but somehow neither the person nor the rugged terrain seem to carry the photo. Doubt it would make a big difference here, but when faced with photos where the colors don't add much, you might consider trying B&W. |

Free Handby mikalaComment: It's a great subject, and I really like the composition. The lighting has done some wonderful things to the photo; but it has also done some terrible things Right in the middle of the photo the pigtail shadow and the triangle of light on the shadowed hand create some confusion, IMO. And the blown white highlights of the cotton tops somehow add to the confusion and distracton. |

Sun Burst!by kosmikkreeperComment: Just when I was ready to pronounce that every good photo of a flower had already been taken... Well, perhaps now I would be right in saying so... Very unusual, and quite compelling. |

Out of the Darkby arnitComment: It's not often we get to count the lenses in the compound eye of an insect, and this photo makes the task not just possible, but possibly even enjoyable. Super. |

Rainy Day :)by chesireComment: Sometimes being out of focus can help a photo, but the general practice is to have the subject be enhanced by having the background and other distracting elements be out of focus. The part of the photo that seems to be in focus is the shadow cast by the flash. And if this is the subject it is not well treated. Allthough qua is not my own taste for either nail polish or sheets, I am willing to tolerate it happily in photos of others. But I'm afraid the aqua cast of the pale adult foot is quite off-putting.
The idea for the photo is a good one, but it's hard to find any part of its execution worthy of favorable comment. |
