Lend Me Your Hand...by LeoComment: Hello, found this in the Critique Club section:
My first impression when viewing your image is how stunning it is to see such a big statue emerge from the building. It fits the challenge well too.
PROS: Composition is above average here. I do enjoy the natural bordering from the foliage up on top of the statue, and great framing overall. The inclusion of the window just adds to the mystery, giving me that feeling of "Where is this place"?
FLAWS: Lighting is a bit harsh in spots. I do like the tones achieved on the statue but other than that, its pretty flat in some areas. I know you mentioned the tilted framing and it does distract, but not too much to ruin the impact of the photo.
Overall, I think the photo scored what it deserved. If you could have increased the shutter speed, or maybe drop the ISO to 100 you might have had better tonal range here. |

Original Designby SledZepplinComment: Hello, Sled Zepplin, found this in the Critique Club section:
PROS: First thought when looking at this photo is, Nice Car! Love the Thunderbird, always did, so I can't possibly say I don't like the photo overall.
FLAWS: The composition is ok, but the cropping of the right side of it is depriving. Also, the car doesn't fill the frame. With a close crop of just a part of a car, the car should take up the majority of the frame; since the remaining part of the image consists of a bland background. I also find no impact in the natural lighting used here.
I do think the photo scored well, and it's a decent shot. It could have been alot better with better lighting and slight improvement in framing. |

Wait...I dropped my sunglassesby JudiComment: I'm saddened by the injury, but the Horse was tired of being messed with I guess. As for the image, fantastic capture and use of natural light. Message edited by author 2009-07-06 00:44:06. |
