Toolby CalliopeKelComment: This is soooo beautiful, Kelly! I love the strength and grit you've brought out. You have the most amazing skill - my deepest thanks to you for the inspiration you give with your images. Don't get too busy with the new office that you can't keep doing things like this - you're the best! |

Favorite blanketby MelethiaComment: This is such a good Textures entry and such a nice photo in general. The blanket and the cat both have such cool textures and we don't normally think about the contrast, but it's there. You got the comment (in a forum thread, I think) that you can almost feel the cat purring --- I liked that description of this image. The only small thing that I can say might be an improvement is if the light on the cat's arm wasn't so strong. It kind of pulls my eye away from the cool shadows in the rough-looking blanket and the soft cat fur. Really nice job!! |

Chromaholicby strickerblue21Comment: There's a little too much for me to look at here - I wish it were either just the grate or just the light - or that the crop wasn't so tight, so one could get a little better perspective. The black and white treatment is appealing though, and the contrast seems perfect. |

Porcheby LindaEComment: This would be perfect with a bit more contrast. The water really adds interest. |

Mini Zippoby KaizerComment: I couldn't figure this out at first, but still thought it was a very good image. Then I read the title and now I get it - but even without knowing it's a lighter, this is a nice shot, stong entry. I especially like the lighting. |

Curvesby PatrolComment: Very pretty, with impressive lighting. The muted tones with the stong light are captivating! |

Paint Me, Blackby catholicskinComment: Meets the challenge well, but unfortunately, the composition confuses me. I'm not sure what you intend the viewer to focus on, where my eye should rest. I think this might be cool if it were just the spoon and fork shown on the left and not the bunch of spoons on the right - they have the photographer's reflection in them. The grain is also an issue for me. |
