Lonesomeby ArtifactsComment: A picture postcard image of desolation yet with a certain beautiful dignity. Nice use of shadow.

Desolated: make up for nobodyby diegohsComment: Quirky and stylised, certainly compelling - I like the expression and the way the make up pulls me towards her eyes. The high contrast works well for this.

A cry that was never heard.by SonifoComment: Nice focal point and certainly gives a feeling of a long lonely time passing. Low viewpoint is interesting. Black and white/ colourised treatment is also, though a touch pink for me.

Desolatedby NazgulComment: I like this idea very much. My first comment would be that, because the model's hair is black, the choice of black clothes makes it hard for me to make out his bowed head - and I think it would be stronger if I could make it out. Nice choice for environment and clever use of the rusted colours as well as the strong lines and angles.

Deadby shedonistComment: Excellent and nice angle. Good composition.
Nice textures and great decision to go black and white.
Would remove that stick towards top/ back.
Like the inclusion of that ant investigator.

Cinderella sweeping up on Desolation Rowby ColeyComment: What a lovely portrait. In terms of composition I'd crop just a touch more at the left so he's sweeping into the frame. I like the black and white and his pose too as well as the textures of the wall.

Desertionby 'PongComment: I like this very much. Nice leading lines and curves, strong composition and I like the posterized feel of it - the high contrast and starkness.

Industrial Revolutionby crabappl3Comment: I love the part of the image to the right of the wooden pole most, and would prefer it cropped to exclude the area to the far left. I love the tatty windows and hanging wiring and the texture of the bricks. Good choice on B/W too.

Just a Matter of Timeby alanfreedComment: Striking. The picture tells the story as many entries really don't. Beautifully crisp contrast and great leading lines.

Doomed Buggyby fellajrComment: The impact trolley is lost somewhat in this image, especially towards it's top edge. I wonder if a closer study of the trolley surrounded only by bleak tarmac, no buildings or sky or anything, would have more impact? |
