3 inch Gerbera specimenby PixelstateComment: I like your effort to show that botany is about the STUDY of flora and isn't just a synonym for the word flora. Composition is nice but contrast and tonal range seem very low - there are no actual whites in this image. Am wondering whether choice of black and white has improved or weakened this shot. |

In the Gloamingby sherComment: Absolutely beautiful backlighting and love the use of back one to add depth and softness. Love the graduated and dappled nature of the background too. |

The Botanist's Viewby mrorange002Comment: Nice use of lens to show examination of flora (botany) not just flora itself but don't like selective desat here. |

Crystal Ballby RoosterComment: Beautifuk composition. I do like droplets on leaves shots but sometimes they can be a bit samey. I love how this one is more abstract and is all about that double waved edge of leaf and the almost perfect sphere of the droplet. That's just beautiful to me and composition very strong. |

Cosmoby WildpurpleComment: Lovely sweeping curves and black and white really focuses viewer on the lines, light, shadow and textures. Nice low DOF coming straight at me in the corner. |

Hosta plantageniaby drydocComment: Different and I like how this one really suggests the study of plants, i.e. botany, more than just a picture of a plant itself. |

Haworthia Viscosaby instepsComment: Nice use of top down to use circle to add composition. Stark nature of pot rim contrasts beautifully with intricate shapes and textures of the plant and rocks. |
