 From my wife's garden in the backyard. Camera was on a tripod and set to manuel. Taken at 11:00 am on an overcast day which help keep the reflectio n to a minimum. Because the theme was botony, I focused literally and figuratively on the magnifying glass and that portion of the flower in it rather than just on the flowers alone. I did very little to change the background because I felt that's what a botanist would face and the reason he or she would be looking with the glass: to find the bugs as it were.
In photoshop: cropped for the desired size; auto adjusted color; smudged some of the large leaves' brown edges; clonned out specs in the glass; unsharpened the mask for the entire scene; adjusted the colors for just the fingers to reduce the pinkish cast; selected just the magnifying glass and sharpened more.

Different and I like how this one really suggests the study of plants, i.e. botany, more than just a picture of a plant itself.

Great concept and the picture is very sharp! Would like to have seen the green leaves darker and more saturated and a bit more blurred to help isolate the white flower.
