Layer Masksby FalcComment: Light and shadow and form - the very essence of photography. Used to great effect here. |

BW film developerby birgirComment: Almost abstract! Very intriguing, bizaare and certainly high contrast. I find it quite artistic. |

Tributeby PanoComment: Excellent contrast and excellent curved composition - model makes a great focal point. Not sure about the strange colours but certainly interesting. Model has a strange pale halo all around him - is it from sharpening? |

Lotus Mood by librodoComment: Locely portrait - great lighting and eye contact and nice use of negative space - I like how the gritty texture of the wall behind adds to the feel of the photo - it gives it a solidity. |

Band: Ask The Slaveby egillbjarkiComment: This is one of those occasions where I think the eye contact "rule" would definitely improve the image - I think it would be more striking if all members of the band were looking directly at the photographer. Still works reasonably well though. |

City Sunby e301Comment: What a fantastic use of strong light and shadow combined with high contrast processing. Excellent composition aided by unusual viewpoint and strong architectural lines. Love it! |

Friendsby CalliopeKelComment: Great subject matter - high contrast treatment fits it perfectly. Solid black background also just right. Not sure about patterned pillow case but everything else works well - eye contact is great! |

Woman In Boudoirby johansecComment: Beautiful lighting really makes the most of the form and texture here. Personally I'd crop the right side out further, pretty much on the vertical line of the corner behind - I find the tree slightly too centred within the square frame. Lovely shot. |

Clashby AtroposComment: I like the anonymity of the motion blur on the person against the crispness of the background. |

Horse’s shoesby gisliComment: Some great textures here nicely caught in the light with the rest of the scene fading into the blackness - that works well. I find this strengthened (for me) by a tighter crop, particularly at top and left but also at bottom. |
