Freshby CutterComment: Nice balance in terms of retaining detail in the skin and achieving a high-key tonal range but the blow out/ loss of detail along the edge of the towel is a shame. Strong composition and the lack of eye contact works to create an enigmatic mood. |

New lifeby sz_martaComment: I love the image itself - the close crop and the concentration of detail in only one corner of hte frame make a striking composition. But I really don't like the processing - the posterisation effect and the loss of detail, particularly on the nose - which seems to have been done to make the image fit the challenge rather than because it suits the image better than any other treatment. |

Birdby SonifoComment: He's beautiful! Nice use of the glass for a rough idea of scale. And nicely exposed so as not to blow out the highlights. I like the reflections in the glass and the little catchlight in his eye. Nice shot! |

broom vendor by whiteroomComment: Missed this one during the quick skim-through of entries. What a stunner. I love the direct eye contact, the textures of his face, the light and shadow and the background too which provides context as well as visual balance. Wonderful portrait! |

Dawn Light (St Michael's Mount) by FalcComment: Didn't view the D&L ones before results were posted - so what a delight to see this one! It's a lovely image of a beautiful place - and your decision to use all the ND filters and get that long exposure and hence that milky effect in the water, works really well. As does the red morning light on the mount against the darkness nearer to shore. Wonderful! |

airborneby arngrimurComment: I like the painted feel of this and the unusual blackness above. Nice sense of motion, also a tension set up by their flight out of the image. |
