A fine deviceby jjbeguinComment: Compositionally and conceptually I liek this a lot. It seems to me, however, that you've created a disconnect from right to left with the agressive background color shift. |

Grandfather Clockby fisheyeComment: Sweet, but I'm not sure I wouldn't prefer it with no blur; that aspect seems not to be working for me, in this case. Not sure why... |

The Mechanics of a Tickby scottwilsonComment: I wish to hell this were squared up vertically and horizontally; it only wants a smidgeon of rotation to accomplish. the motion is very very nice, as is the framing. Was the pure black groudn your best choice? |

Music boxby GinaRothfelsComment: sweet image. a lot to like. I wonder isa the backgroudn a hair too bright? |

Give it a Twistby ACheltonComment: Awkward focus, poor white balance, fairkly arbitrary composition, all work against this. |

The Old Fashioned Wayby GolferDDSComment: I wish like hell the "horizon line" weren't parallel to and and tangent to the lowermost of the wires on the rearmost whisk (if that makes sense?). An overall sense of muddiness detracts a bit, even recofnizing the desire to "antique" this through sepia tonalities. One thing I notice is that the beater shows to best advantage in its reflection, not its actuality; a pity this isn't reversed... |

The Mechanic of Timeby fplouffeComment: almost there. Watch could be rotated clockwise maybe 15-20 degrees. Lighting a little blocked up, losing shadow detail in subject. exactly half the image is the antique diagram, so it's sort of static. The rotation of the watch woudl have helped this. These sorts of shots are devilishly difficult to light. |

Wrenchedby karmatComment: I donno, this is skilfullyh enough done but it seems so pat to me. Also, the way the shadows fall on the white make it too obviosu that this is a rotated, horizontal composition, and it seems arbitrary/artificial to me. |

Simple Mechanicalby banmornComment: Dramatic as hell. Might work better if the subject were up and left 10% each, so the key diagonal line fell parallele to but slightly above the corner-to-corner diagonal. I wish the lighting gave me a hair of separation from shadowed area of object to pure black background. Just a hair, not much... |
