The Mechanic of Timeby fplouffeComment: almost there. Watch could be rotated clockwise maybe 15-20 degrees. Lighting a little blocked up, losing shadow detail in subject. exactly half the image is the antique diagram, so it's sort of static. The rotation of the watch woudl have helped this. These sorts of shots are devilishly difficult to light. |

Wrenchedby karmatComment: I donno, this is skilfullyh enough done but it seems so pat to me. Also, the way the shadows fall on the white make it too obviosu that this is a rotated, horizontal composition, and it seems arbitrary/artificial to me. |

Simple Mechanicalby banmornComment: Dramatic as hell. Might work better if the subject were up and left 10% each, so the key diagonal line fell parallele to but slightly above the corner-to-corner diagonal. I wish the lighting gave me a hair of separation from shadowed area of object to pure black background. Just a hair, not much... |

Can Openerby DianaBComment: I like the palpable lighting, soft and sharp at same time. I don't carte for the muddy hint of overall green in the color. |

Appealby charliebakerComment: an oddly confusing image. I'm not sure but what the monochrome is workign against you in this case...Love the juxtaposition of curves. |

Empty eyesby saurabhsComment: Lots of curb appeal, but it can't sustain my interest. seems tolack critical sharpness also. |

Coloredby cabaComment: The truncation of the inner (orange) diameter of the upper wheel is extremely unfortunate. Ditto the "disappearing rivet" detail left. Image woudl benefit from cropping left and foregroudn both. Otherwise luscious, very tactile. |

Chaindriveby matispistaComment: an odd "drift" on the points of critical focus; wheel rim, foreground gear, metal hoop top right, part of the support bat appended thereto. The strongest visual element here is the trunctaed wheel. It's an appealing image in many ways, but ultimately confusing and haphazard feeling to me. |

Mechanical Graveyardby jessieComment: appealing in a sad, chaotic way. The strong central element seems oddly right. It doesn't seem sharp, and it needs to be. |

nail trimmerby camelotnorthComment: I'd like to see this without the background and foreground distractions. Conceprtually appealing. |
