Day 25 El Danzanteby ValdoComment: Okay Ivan, here's what I like and don't like. I like the effects you worked on for the tones for the entire picture. You have a good focus on the man. The background really distracts from the subject of the image. Your wonderful 50mm lens could have corrected this had you changed your aperture setting say to a f/2.8 when taking the shot. However you now have to deal with this building and doing something more, where more focus of yours eyes goes to the man. If you crop a little tighter you will loose some of the building to the left and all of it to the right. Then you could add a little vignetting around the edges to draw the focus inward to the man. Another thing that is distracting is the square in the sky sitting just on top of the building. The only reason I write anything negative about this photo is because you asked for advice so I'm just sharing thoughts. :) |

regardless - day 26by ErinMComment: Daniel always seems so deep in thought, which keeps each image a mystery. He really knows how to pose. Again wonderful edits Erin. |

peek - day 25by ErinMComment: Originally posted by ErinM: Originally posted by pineapple: Camera toting parents are a PITA. They are always lurking around, never ever participate, and seem to be barely human. Kids need play and fun and things to do.... so I can understand why she makes you work for it ;-) (I have two daughters one 12 and one 5 and am speaking from experience). |
I have difficulty finding anything constructive or helpful in these remarks, but then I guess they weren't intended to be either. Please be assured that my children have ample time to play and plenty of fun things to do. I am fully involved in many activities in their lives, most of which go unrecorded by my camera. I view as a privilege the opportunities that I do have to document brief moments in their lives, and both of my children appreciate this completely. Their desire not to be photographed at any given time is always understood and honored. |
WOW!! Good for you Erin! I see this completely different than Pineapple. I see through your lens a love for your children and that you are involved in their lives. We need more parents like you! I see a mom who not only knows where her childen are but are interacting with them, then picking up your camera and documenting and making those memories you share with you children last a lifetime. Bravo to you Erin!
