ridersby oldbimmercoupeComment: Just pure, beautiful light, made more special by the point of view relative to the people in it, and then even more than that by the inclusion of the slightly out-of-focus man at left ... he stands in (literally) for the photographer, and also for the person who views the photograph. It's an immensely clever & classy picture. Thank you. 9. |

Tuol Sleng - S21by cosneyComment: Beautiful picture of an appalling place. Sometimes, when it's become too late to change terrible events, a picture is all you can say. Words become clichés, too easily passed over or stepped around, while pictures burrow into our conscience and find a place there. Maybe that way they will stop it being too late another time. But even if they don't, they at least place a small marker in our history on behalf of the ones that can't do it for themselves. Thank you. 9. |

Heatherby hajekaComment: That's quite beautiful! A sort of slow delight that becomes increasingly coherent and rewarding the longer one looks at it. And I looked for quite a while. It's a loving photograph; nothing professionally dispassionate about this one. Thank you. 9. |

Stubborn by UrfaKComment: There's a lot of charm in this picture. Not least is the way the calf takes the easy track while the person persists with the awkward side of the road. It's a simple, lovely picture. Thank you. 8. |

Berlin-Hauptbahnhofby bobkComment: This is beautiful. What I most admire is the ordering of the 'weights' of the various elements of the picture. I think of a piano: left hand at the left, firm and solid; and right hand at the right, bright and airy. I'm rarely interested in good photography for its own sake, but this shakes me up a bit. Thank you. 8. |

no pictures pleaseby cutoutComment: Wonderfully circular, is that path this picture takes us on. It seems to be a contradiction, but really I think it's a sort of gentle irony. There's a lovely 'hoist with his own petard' sense to it. Thank you. 8. |

Deja vu..by thrumyiisComment: Well I love street, even though it's often just like blues music ... the same old chord progression given yet one more interpretation. And this is a classic street theme, with the echoes of the three girls. The thing is, the echoes are so pure here that it still stands above the ordinary in street shots. Thank you. 8. |

Unforeseen whereaboutsby jjbeguinComment: So many unexpected twists and turns to this picture. Macro clever, micro clever, title clever. Thank you. 8. |
