Meets the challenge and it's a visually arresting composition; an interesting abstract feel to it. But it doesn't suggest anything deeper to me (doesn't have to, of course, but I prefer some emotional dimension, a statement about the subject, rather than just a subject). So this leaves me thinking, "That's good, but that's all". Therefore ... 6.

Interesting subject, and you have effectively used the light to draw attention to the "blooms". The dark thing (snake? rope?) at lower left distracts me. 6

I think you're clever to have found a "natural" prism and to have composed a decent photograph to display it effectively. Nevertheless, it makes for an image that doesn't stimulate any emotion or thought at all. Once you've seen the light spectrum, that's pretty much all there is. Do you think a human figure, or even a fragment of one, might have added something, or maybe you felt it would have just distracted? As it is, I'm stuck at a score of 6.

Niced photo of a giant eyeball, or UFO interior, or whatever it is. How do the rods or cables fade into nothingness in the centre? Anyway, it's not a subject I'd choose, but it certainly eye-catching (sorry, couldn't resist that). It has got a "something's missing" feel about it, though. 6

There are a lot of bulb shots in this challenge, which doesn't make it a good idea; just popular. This one is a little short of impact because it is neither lit up (I don't know how they do that, either), nor is it photographed in an interesting way (in silhouette, for example). I guess what I'm saying is that if you are going to shoot a pedestrian object, try to find an "unusual" way to do so. Sorry. 4

Thanks ... now I know how they make those highlight streaks in hair. I must say they look better during this phase than they do when they're finished. The photo is OK; a bit overblown but I guess that's deliberate? I do find it hard to comment on a subject who's head appears to have been prepared for the oven. But at least you got my attention. 4

It's an OK photograph I guess, but I'm afraid I feel the subject is just not interesting enough to be worth shooting. Of course, several others also felt a candle was a worthy subject. I don't know if that vindicates my position or yours. Anyway, I can't rate it highly I'm afraid. Sorry. 4

This is a poor relation, I'm afraid. Been done, several times, and been done better every time. I'm afraid to me this one is just too incoherent to have any impact. The candle is evident only after the most searching examination, and the bubbles are just too slipshod to achieve the repeating pattern upon which the intended effect depends. Sorry. 4

I feel that it's a very nice picture but somehow lacks the dramatic element that makes me want to look at it a second time. Maybe there's a more visually arresting shot over closer to the lighthouse? Getb the thing dominating the frame, maybe. It looks like a potentially high-impact structure, but loses some presence peeping over the tops of some unremarkable trees. Sorry. 5

I feel I should like this more; you've gone to a lot of trouble & also taken a technically good photograph. However, it just seems a bit cold and staged to me (of course I do realise it's not supposed to be a candid shot, but it still feels unconvincing anyway). Plenty of style but not enough substance is what I'm trying to say. I may well be in the minority, of course. Sorry. 5
