What a brilliant composition! It looks self-evident now that you've done it, but it would have been easy to get this all wrong, and you didn't. You got it exactly right, in my view. 8

I like everything about this photograph. Its deceptively casual character makes it easy to overlook the meticulous composition and expert execution that went into creating it. Which just goes to show how very good it is; this photographer is skilful enough that it isn't necessary to show off by getting in the way of the image. Mastery & maturity. 10

I love the composition. It's a very appealing image, well seen and expertly executed. And the pigeon finishes it off perfectly. 9

There's something slightly staged about this photograph. Aha! I see what's wrong ...you don't have any bait! Bet you just bought those two fish at a fish shop. Seriously ... a very creative idea, nicely photographed. 8.

Well, it's certainly different. Interesting & a bit strange. Gets your attention; that's worth at least 6.

Well this was NOT necessarily better than your first two challenges, Alison. It is VERY good indeed, but I think your Bridge was even better, and I think maybe you might too. 'Course, this one sure scored much higher! But I don't imagine either one was a fluke.

You don't look much like you sound, Ed. I had pictured more oval eyes and perhaps a roguish touch of 5-o'clock-shadow towards the southern extremeties of the bag. The inscrutable expression is , however, exactly as I had anticipated. I really can't imagine how you managed to keep a straight face.

Howdy Pedro. No wonder I didn't get the shirt thing ... it's a movie! Alas I haven't seen it; I can't stand movies. Haven't been able to stomach a whole movie since Citizen Kane (I was at the premiere, if I recall). I still like your portrait though, & wish I could give you back the point I deducted for what I thought was just a goofy shirt. Please excuse my ignorance.

Howdy Bear:
Can't figure out why some commentators didn't realise that if your reflection HAD appeared in the droplet, then it would NOT have met the challenge! I award a Silver Star, Bear (and a Purple Heart, I guess!)

Adam: This was my only 10. It has an artistic purity and durability that is by comparison so pitifully absent in most of the images that finished higher, including my own. I hope you will be consoled (if indeed you require any consolation) by the fact that several of the most discriminating commentators in the DPC community recognised the quality of your photograph. I am not of course referring to myself, but if you examine the comments list below, you'll quickly pick them out. Then again, I guess you already have; it takes one to know one!
