The only human beeing who lived in harmonyby MephistoComment: I liked it more at first glance than I do on reflection; I have the feeling that it looks more consequential than it actually is. I wondered if you were saying that the central, strangely hunched figure finds harmony only in solitude? That works I guess, versus the couple behind, but then what of the other two solo persons further back? If the central figure is the only human beeing (sic) living in harmony, then what are they living in? I couldn't work out what it meant, and concluded that it doesn't mean anything at all. Still in my top five, though ... at least it stimulated a train of thought, even if it took me nowhere. |

winterby kolasiComment: This is absorbing. I feel like I am witnessing something and I'm not sure what it is. A kill by some wild predator, and the flight of the survivors? Some bonehead hunter blundering out of the forest, driving the animals before him? I don't know what it is that's happening... I'd be a useless witness. It's a lot better than it first appears, this photograph! |

All Aboardby tvsometimeComment: It has a devotional look to it. Worshipping some God (Mammon, maybe?), or just going to work and staying alive. And trying to stay warm as well. |

Hot chocolate and gluwineby ThingFishComment: What I like most about it is that there appears to be nothing at all happening!
It has that improbable Pieter Bruegel look to it. Like this perhaps. |

Life is where you areby Rino63Comment: This is a weirdly compelling photograph. In spite of the pissing dog and the silver man apparently adding a few shiny drops of his own, and in spite of the indifferent man in the sunglasses, I think this is about the lions. Life is where you are, and this is their life ... being pissed on and ignored at the same time. No wonder they look so bleakly acquiescent. |

Not a box of chocolatesby MelethiaComment: I like this very much. I especially admire the fact that you did not crop this closer to remove 'distractions' and to obtain a portrait in which the man is more physically dominant. This photograph is not so much about the man himself as it is about what surrounds him ... not who he is, but where he is; not who he is but what he has. And has not. |

... climbby RetroesqueComment: I think I'd prefer it without LB. I'm a killjoy, yes? What I mean is it's somehow fighting with itself, and the empty side is winning. Yes, I know ... that makes no sense, but it's the best I can do at this hour. |

by messerschmittComment: Wiel ... man you have got to get some moisturiser!
That's a most radical texture layer, and one of the best too. |

Black Iceby Bear_MusicComment: I'm not quite so enthusiastic. But you knew that! On the other hand, the larger line reminded me about splicing, which I learned from my late Dad, so I naturally forgive you for the saran wrap. |

archwayby cginoComment: The strange tree makes all the difference here ... I've never been down your way, but this is just how I expected it to feel. Thanks. |
