Removedby tangueraComment: This was so nearly brilliant ΓΆ€“ I so rarely do this because I think it's insufferably presumptuous, but alas I'm going to do it anyway. The bottom 25% diminishes the photograph. It begged, pleaded, howled, wheedled and entreated for a squarish crop from the top, ending just at the guy's right knee (his actual knee not his shadow knee). I never saw a picture that could not be improved by the addition of a little implication and ambiguity. Well, hardly ever.
Having blurted all that probably unwelcome bile upon you, let me say I still make it my pick as clear best of the challenge, although I'm still rolling the bottom bit off my screen as I savour it. |

question the markby posthumousComment: After so much relentless, leaden literalism in this challenge, this is a truly blessed relief. The dog is of course querying the same aroma that I am and I'd bet is considering the very response that had until now been commending itself to me. As a bonus, it's a very fine photograph technically, probably, if that matters. This is my top pick. |

On the Doom side of Businessby RianBotesComment: This gets more witty each time I look. Despair, the empty chairs, and yet the graph's growth curve swoops upward. I suppose he sold short. This is my top pick.
Some might say it's not in the style of nixter (not B&W; not perhaps as elegantly reductive as the nix; blah blah) but I don't think he'd think that. It has his spirt all right; his sly wit and his deft visual echoes. |

Classicby JutildaComment: Some people are their car, some people are their grass. It's rarely the same people. |

Homage to Malvern Star by FourPointXComment: I keep coming back. Maybe it's because I had a Malvern Star. Maybe because I had a childhood. Surely because I like photographs that invite me outside the frame. |

Travelsby dasserComment: You look like a person pretending to be muur88 pretending to be Nixter. That's good enough for me. |
