Negadethby PennyStreetComment: Yes. The shadow elevates him beautifully. Thank you.
And I'm hoping that's just a navel down below. |

Hip Jointby MelethiaComment: I skipped Weston, mainly because I don't much like Weston. So looking at a collection of faux-Weston seemed an unnecessary self-flagellation. But had I been up for a bit of S&M I'd have writhed in delight at this one.
First level of pleasure is the seeing. The anthropomorphism. Though at our age the hip joint can never be taken for granted.
Second level is the juxtaposition of the corporeal decaying with the purity of the small flowers. The corporeal outlasts the ephemeral, but only at some cost to beauty and discomfort.
Third level is the quality of the craft; so beautifully bracketing the tonal weights of the juxtaposition.
That's as far as I've got. I'm only a third-level S&M Master: black & white belt. |

detritusby bohemkaComment: This is a very interesting photograph, something of a technical as well as an aesthetic exercise. The light source, at least in the top half, can surely only have been achieved (and disguised) by an artful use of time. I am going to call you bspurgeon on a provisional basis, and if you're not he after all, then you have a new fan. Because I loved all that this picture offered, and admired the deceptively effortless way it was done. My top pick in the challenge. Thank you. |

Detoxification by PaulComment: Beautiful photograph though I think the gas mask is a Bridge Too Far, in spite of the titular statement of your intent. Yes I do 'get it', but for me it detracts from the purity of what you had here. Remember though, I am pretty old, so I saw all this jarring juxtaposition stuff 40-odd years ago. But back in those days it very often covered up a lack of substance and skill. Whereas you have plenty of both. Nevertheless, it's your picture & not mine, and it's still very good indeed. 8. Thank you. |

ISBNby herfotomanComment: I do so hope that you intended the title to be ISBN and, having convinced myself that you did, I think you are a very clever photographer but a slightly sloppy typist. 8. Thank you. |

On the verge of tearsby jjbeguinComment: A beautiful picture, a modern incarnation of a Kertész. The title suggests that you already know how good it is. Thank you. |
