Card Tricksby NobodyComment: I thought about doing this...really! ;^) Went a different direction. This should do pretty well in the DPC voting community. It's clean, simple, fun, well lit and exposed right on. The lighting on the hand is perfect. The DNMC police are going to hit you some on the evident motion blur in the cards I think. Hopefully, for your sake, not TOO hard! ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

Turn Out The Lightby ShaneBlakeComment: So close...not quite there with the shutter speed as the hammer head and flying pieces are blurred a little. Lighting is good overall. How many bulbs did you go thru to get this shot? ;^) Good luck. |

A-10 Thunderbolt IIby BHusemanComment: Nice crisp image. Motion is stopped just fine. Looks a bit like a documentary type shot. Something you would see in a textbook or website that provided details on the plane. With that being said, I'm not sure how much "Wow" factor you're going to get with the voters. Yes, it's a nice shot, but (nothing personal) not very exciting. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Splash!by redmoonComment: Wet! That's the first thought that comes to mind. ;^) What is it, a firehose or something next to the person on the left? The background looks like a huge wave hitting a retainer wall or something. Very interesting to try and figure this out. Then the water up close almost looks like it's ready to hit the camera. Hmmm. Will be interested to see the details on this one after the challenge. I think this is going to be a love it or hate it kind of shot with the voters. Hopefully, people will slow down enough to look at it. ;^) Good luck! |

53 Wingbeats per Secondby fordmanf1Comment: Wow, that front wing is moving so fast it's almost translucent. This is a nice capture overall. You've stopped the motion pretty well. Could be a bit sharper as the two main subject items seem a little soft. The DOF works well to take out the background. Hope this does well for you. Good luck. |

ButterFlyby MelTech1Comment: This is a tough one to catch. The butterfly having it's wings nearly closed makes it almost impossible to retain detail unless you have a very deep aperture. But then you'd have to have a very high shutter speed to stop the motion. What to do...what to do. ;^) I also wonder if instead of a square crop (I'm assuming, maybe incorrectly, that this was in landscape orientation originally), if you had taken just a bit more off the left and right to give it more of a portrait orientation, what that would have looked like. Just a thought. All of the above is JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Family Funby trailwalkerComment: Looks like everyone is having fun. Nice potential here. You have a nice composition with the raft coming into the frame and some good action going on. The motion has been stopped for the most part. On the downside, the lighting is very harsh and the image is overexposed. Looks like midday sun, so that is hard to get, especially with limited time for adjustments. Would have been better to slightly underexpose perhaps in this case and try to bring it back in post-processing. Once you've lost detail you can't recover it. Nice capture overall, just that darn lighting... Good luck in the challenge. |

A Little Tuneby macrothingComment: Good title, cute picture. Is the bird singing or giving you a lecture? ;^) Not sure if it's the bird or the focus making it seem a little fuzzy/blurry. Focus is sharp directly underneath the bird on the larger leaf. Hmmm. You do have some noise/grain that could hurt your score a notch or two. Did you crop this down, or use too high an ISO? Nonetheless, it's a fun image. Good luck in the challenge. |

The Danceby SJCarterComment: That's fun getting so many hummingbirds at one time! ;^) Actually, in this case it helps having that third one even though the back one is a bit out of range for the aperture selected. I say it helps because odd numbers seem to balance an image better than even. Really don't have much to say in ways of trying to improve this. The two birds even with the feeder are nice and sharp, and most importantly (for this challenge) you've stopped the motion quite well. Good luck. |

Dragon Flyby andrea22_alsComment: I know this dragonfly COULD be moving, but it doesn't look like it is, especially with it's legs on the branch. :( Considering that the challenge theme is 'Stopped Motion' you are probably going to take some flack on this one. JMO of course. The dragonfly itself could be better focused, it seems soft. The end of the leftmost stick looks blownout, yet the dragonfly seems slightly underexposed...not sure how that happened? Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
