The Questby aznymComment: I would have been tempted to ADD grain to this for an artistic look. Probably wouldn't have scored well however. ;^) As is, there is a little noise in the sky although it looks like you've applied some noise reduction to it already. The birds are WAY cool. Love the angle. You've stopped the motion pretty well. Would be a stronger image if the birds were a little sharper...the image overall seems soft. JMO of course. ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

Tempest in a Cupby LucidLotusComment: Oh...too bad you didn't have a star filter on. Those points of light would have lite up beautifully! As it is you're probably getting some comments on the lighting being too harsh and the DOF too shallow (back edge of dish is OOF). The top drip ball (what do you call it?) is a little blurry. If that could have been sharp like the center of the dish I think some of the other items I've pointed out would have been inconsequential. Very close to having a top top image here...good luck and keep at it! ;^) |

Busting a Blue Bulbby JeniYComment: One of the better bulb shots in the challenge IMO. Still a bit of motion blur however and that's going to cost you some in the voting I'm afraid. I really like the blue on white - very nice combination. The bulb base is quite sharp and detailed. I'm wondering if some of the blur in the moving pieces is because of aperture selection and DOF? Anyway, you'll probably do fairly well with this nonetheless. ;^) Good luck. |

Six Pack Skatingby raishComment: This is fun to look at. It looks like your main subject moved out of your focus area unfortunately as he is a little blurry. Would have been cool to capture this shot a split second sooner when he came over the trash can. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Johnny On The Ballby EssAreDubyaComment: Hmmm. Well, it's a nice baseball shot overall. The ball is still moving as evidenced by the blur. That's going to cost you some as the challenge was pretty specific on no motion trails, etc... I might have cropped the bottom out some to get the batter off-center and bring the subject in a little closer. JMO of course. ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

Gunshotby PanoComment: The thumbnail makes me say Yikes! Fun and scary image at the same time. I have a good idea of how you've done this (will look to photographers comments to confirm afterwards...he-he). The hand on the right is sharp, the face on the left is not. That's what will keep this image from making it to the top IMO. Good luck...and be careful playing with those guns!!! |

Here comes the Spiderman!by acrotideComment: Cute title and fun idea for the challenge entry image. Feet and legs are well focused. Start getting a little soft around the face. For maximum impact it should be the other way around. Tough shot at that angle. I like the body angle as it adds a strong diagonal line to the image. All JMO of course. ;^) Good luck in the challenge. |

Coming Down The Stretchby khdossComment: Clean, sharp image. Front running horse is very well exposed and sharply focused. Motion has been stopped as needed. A UV have filter may have knocked out some of the hazy background. A polarizer could have given the color a little more pop (the red in the jersey is a little subdued), or a small boost in hue sat in post-processing... Overall a nice image. Good luck in the challenge. |

Sponges at Dawnby benhurComment: This looks like a fun game. ;^) Good job capturing the water spray in right side of the frame. Motion has been stopped for sure. The scene itself may be a little 'busy' to garner high votes here at DPC. Only negative for me is the exposure looks just a tad dark. Good luck in the challenge. |

Polar Twistby StrikeslipComment: I love the circular lines formed around the bears neck with the water spray. Big points on the cool factor there. I'm thinking either your distance to the subject was too close and the focal point off just a smidgen, or your aperture was too shallow, as the forefront water is nice and crisp but the bear and some back spray shows some blur (either DOF or motion). JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |
