Leftoversby ShutterPugComment: This is one of my top picks for this challenge. I love the simplicity of it and the near high-key feel to it. Nice choice in composition, the way you decided to include the amount of bowl rim, etc... Good luck in the challenge. |

pod designby pointandshootComment: Almost abstract in a way...like the texture and details. Only minor complaint is there is a little glare from lighting in some of the high points. Overall, nicely done! The strong diagonals work very well. Good luck in the challenge. |

The Lonely Peaby LadyRenComment: Hah! It looks like an apple!!! ;^) I like your concept. I'm thinking that your title isn't quite right for the shot. JMO of course, but with the pea looking that large it takes away from being lonely. A minimalisism type shot (more negative space) may have done better with your chosen theme. |

Dragon Peasby ShaneBlakeComment: Yes. This is fun and creative. Nicely done overall. Some may take issue with the lighting but it appears that you were going for a spotlight type look. Look forward to seeing who did this one! ;^) Good luck. |

mmmm.....PEAS!by AppleFunkComment: This is actually quite clever and had the potential to do so much more in scoring I think. Couple of things hurting this are 1) too much noise/grain, and 2) the framing is a bit non-conventional.
Item #1 is the biggest issue. Try to shoot in the lowest ISO that you can. Use a tripod and dial down to ISO 100 (50 if you have it). If your camera is inherently noisy then look for noise reduction options (i.e. - Neat Image, etc...). Also, try to fill the frame of your shot as close to the final composition that you are hoping to achieve as cropping down can cause image quality problems at times.
I like the way you've put this image together compositionally. A plain white or black poster board underneath may have been a little better, but that's a personal opinion for sure. The image is focused just fine...just that darn noise! ;^)
Good luck in this and future challenges. |

putting food on the tableby irishempressComment: Great subject. The guy is perfect for this shot! Couple of things holding back what could have been a tremendous shot; 1) the lighting is very harsh, 2) the image isn't focused as well as it should be, 3) maximize your real estate - use 640px on the long side for better detail.
The composition is very good, wonderful in fact... Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Spotlight on Peasby rinacComment: Ok. Took me a minute. I was wondering what that lined streak was cutting across the image. The title helped. ;^) I wonder if I'm alone in this line of thinking? Perhaps a little more of the light housing should be visible? JMO of course. Other than that I like the placement of your items and specifically the peas. Well exposed and nice sharp focusing. Good luck in the challenge. |

Peas on the rocksby scaramangaComment: This had some potential but your setup, specifically the poster board in the back, kind of ruined it. :( With a seamless backdrop this would score at least 1 -> 1.5 points higher. Keep at it, and have fun! ;^) |

Jumperby raishComment: You probably don't want to hear this, but I like this outtake much better than your entry.
Danged if you do, danged if you don't sometimes - eh? ;^) |
