Classically Seedyby tembaComment: Such a tricky thing to expose these dandelion heads correctly. You're near (perhaps over) the edge on being being overexposed in the highlights. From looking at this I get the impression that this image is a crop of something larger. Background is a little noisy and the "fluff" could be sharper. There is one, maybe two others with dandelion heads that are nicely defined and sharp in this challenge. For example - [thumb]395774[/thumb].
All of the above is JMO of course. Just trying to be honest. ;^) |

the end and the beginning by ursulaComment: Nice. Crisp, clear, interesting to look at. I like the color tone you've selected (kicking myself - almost used this tone and chickened out). Nice use of bg material to add, yet not impose, to the image overall. |

Pod Headsby IvoComment: This is very cool. I really like the tone and contrast (sharp too!). Very nice job of processing this. |

Gone to Seedby sailjoComment: A little hot up top, green may have been pushed too far in saturation, and possibly could be a little sharper. All that said, I still like it! ;^) Nice bokeh in the background. I need to grow some of these so I don't have to hunt for them when I need one to add to a photo. :P
Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Maple Tree Seedsby AlainComment: Yep - clean, simple, nice bokeh background, sharp and well focused. Put it in a frame! ;^) Well done. Good luck in the challenge. |

Congruent Circlesby KelliComment: Very nice lines and a fun to look at image. I wish the top extruding piece could be in focus as well, but I'm sure it's tough to get DOF all the way thru the image from the distance you were positioned from the subject. Good luck in the challenge. |

Enchanted Treeby KelliComment: This came out almost as an abstract. Given the context of the challenge theme it's identifiable. It is hard to grasp the context in which the image was taken, i.e. - how big is it? Not that it really matters that much but I get the impression from reading the 'Photographer's Comments' that you were amazed at it's size. If that "hugeness" could be passed on to the viewer...
Regarding the post-processing, the highlights (on this monitor - which isn't good) seem to be blown-out and the details of the tree/roots are a little muted and soft. I do like the high contrast approach you took overall.
Sounds like a neat place to visit sometime. ;^) |

The cellby Jaded_HousewifeComment: Great use of natural light - exposure is right on the money. Had I not read your 'Photographer's Comments' I wouldn't have thought that cell was as old as it is. |

The Guardianby Jaded_HousewifeComment: I have to say I just laughed out loud reading your comments about the location, the black hole, and your camera doing strange things! ;^) The hubby comment kept the smile going...he-he.
As for the processing on this image, I like it. It retained the gloomy feel that was certainly present. One of the first things that jumped out at me, unfortunately, was that tall blade of grass in the foreground. I just read thru your comments on this...bet your grumbling a bit about that? :P Overall, I liked your entry alot - gave it an 8 when voting. |

I'm gonna be sooo popular!by jaxedComment: This is clever. Cute too! ;^) Trying to figure out the lighting here, looks like a spotlight hitting the beaker and table edge area which is throwing a hard glare on the beaker and really making the white jacket pop out. This in turn makes the white board behind seem underexposed. Not sure how you could have done it differently - a reflector board maybe to bounce some light behind the boy? Anyway, certainly an interesting image to look at. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
