Dark Waterby Cakileen28Comment: Not sure what you did here, but the lighting in general is too dark IMO. Subject is a bit too centered also for many I'm sure. Sorry. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Memoriesby patryComment: Uh-oh. Somebody missed this part of the challenge. The details...
"Details: Include a rubber ducky in your photograph this week".
Nice painting/drawing BTW. |

Hidden Duckyby deacueductoComment: Is he/she bashful? :) Interesting approach you took here. Not sure that it's going to go over too well unfortunately...think more of the duck should be visible. Another item that will hold this down some is the lighting, it's too harsh where you're getting the reflections off of the waxy leaves. Diffused lighting would have worked a little better here I think. All JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Jersey Devil Huntersby quiet_observationComment: The color of the guys jacket really stands out well in this scene. If he was alone it would work better. Looks like you had ideal lighting conditions (overcast skies) for this particular shot.
Not sure that this challenge is really a good fit for multiple portraits, and their activity isn't really stating strongly the "essence" of the person. JMO of course. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Big Legs Little Legsby baco99Comment: Pembroke Welsh Corgi...awwwhhh. I had a little guy like that once. This pic makes me miss him. :( Could have been twins.
As for the image, the technicals are there. Storyline? Does it tell the "essence of the person"? Little bit thin in that regard. This photo seems to be more about the dog than the person. JMO of course. Best of luck in the challenge. |

Cowgirl Codyby JeniYComment: Wonderful capture. "Essence of the person" ??? Well, the environment fits, although some activity that shows she's a cowgirl would help sell the story a little better. Nonetheless - an image to be proud of. Good luck in the challenge. |

Capt. Walt, Seafarerby jrjrComment: Wonderful color, tones, and texture in this shot. Most importantly, a story is being told about the person that is the subject of this image. Well done on both counts - photo of merit and meeting the challenge theme. |

The Enthusiastby cools98Comment: Oops! There's a whole lot of face showing here. It's a very intense and interesting image, I'll give it that. :) The challenge is to "show us the essence of a person" without showing their face. Disregarding the face issue, what does 'The Enthusiast' mean? I'm really not trying to be a smart aleck here...just giving some feedback on what questions this photo raises when I look at it. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |
