target practiceby tcmartinComment: Very nice tonal range in the B/W photo. IMO the subject is a bit thin on interest, at least for me personally. I look at this and think "spare parts" or "headed for the junkyard". :D Anyway...good luck in the challenge. |

Egretby Hye5Comment: Nice shot overall. Great details in the tail feathers area. The eye and head isn't as sharp as the forementioned area. Getting the eye crisp is essential to a strong wildlife photo. The whites also feel a little understated and closer to grey tones (although that could be this cruddy work monitor). All JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Old and newby cryingdragonComment: This is clear and fairly well focused (not quite parallel), but for some reason just doesn't "feel" Black & White. Mind tricks perhaps - used to seeing a penny in copper tones maybe so I see this as sepia. Nice macro nonetheless. Good luck in the challenge. |

Enchanted Forestby AlexSaberiComment: Now the question becomes, is it real or is it a 3D archery target? :D Love the lighting in this. Aptly titled for the scene. Good luck in the challenge. |

Sunrise and Shadowsby BrianRComment: Nice composition with the road and fence positioning. It appears that a deeper aperture could have been used to bring the distant tree into sharper focus. Overall this has a very nice feel to it. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Thoughtsby wavelengthComment: Wonderful texture and clarity. Good choice of aperture for a "just right" DOF. Well done. |

Driftwoodby DelRioPhotoComment: Wonderful scene and captured quite well. Nice tonal range covering the white to black spectrum. The driftwood is a good center piece for the viewer to discover and the lines and placement of it in your composition is quite pleasing. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Winter bikeby korpenComment: Hey! What a great eye to see this and capture the photo before this had a chance to "spoil". Maybe I won't hound the kids so much to put their bikes away in the future! :D Well done, and good luck in the challenge. |

Gate to Hellby HawesPhotoKCComment: It's interesting overall. There is alot of mid-tone greys in this and the bg area that is visible is getting lost a little. The black bar running across the top is a little distracting (could have cropped down some, or removed it as this is an advanced editing challenge). JMO of course. Good luck in the challenge. |

Sierra Skyby briantammyComment: You've done a nice job of exposing for the sky/clouds and keeping the remaining parts of the image properly exposed for the most part. It almost feels like the mountains are missing some shadows, like the blacks aren't quite black enough. Could be this cruddy work monitor... I like how the sky overpowers the photo and makes the mountains appear insignificant. Anyway, good luck in the challenge. |
