Very nice image. Love the lighting, the textures, the detail and the colors. I've always been a fan of the black background, but for some reason, this one seems to need something to rest on. I'm not sure why, but it looks slightly awkward. I still love the image, and think it will do very well. <7>

I like this image a lot. It's softness is different than most pictures like this. A nice sharp drop of water and stem, adds just a touch of detail in the very shallow DOF image. Just a thought...I wonder if a slightly different colored background might have helped define the shape of the apple rather than blending with it, since the edges of the apple are blurred due to the DOF. <7>

This is the image I was going to do, but ran out of time this week. I'm glad someone did it. And did it well. Very nice textures in the leaves and flower pedals. I really like the black background as well, which helps the image 'pop'. Beautiful colors. I hope this image does very well...its one of my favs! <9>

Nice image. I love the way the model is dressed. The red curtains on the side of the image really help keep the eye from wandering away. Very nice image that should do very well. <8>

The splash of an apple

Seems to be a lot of splashing fruit lately, since the article in Popular Photo a couple of months ago. This one is one of the best I've seen. I love the colors, and sharpness of the image. I also like that it is taken from below the surface of the water, looking up, rather than at surface level. Very nice image that should do well. <8>

A Pair and an Orange are intruding. Nice Image, and one of the better titles I've ever seen in any challenge. You made me study this image. It's a nice image, with a grand variety of apples, with many different colors from yellow to green to read (with a little orange tossed in for good measure). Very nicely done. <7>

Is this the one the spoiled the whole bunch? Very nice image. Great idea! Nicely exposed. I'm bothered a little by the visible thread suspending the apple, but I do like the way you wet the apple to give it more texture, and more brilliance and interest. Very nicely done. <7>

Apple Juice

I'm thinkin' this would have been really awesome on a black background or even a very deep red background, maybe even better enough to be a winner! I would have been easier to see the details in the glass, including the sweat which makes the glass look cold. The pouring juice would have jumped off the page, and the apple with it's highlights would have been well defined. Very nice idea, just the wrong background in my opinin <5>
