"Low Tech"... Fix-Allby tfarrell23Comment: Good concept, nice shot except for the tape(?) streaming off to the left - can't tell what that is. If it was tape off the roll, should be sliver side up. If it's not tape, it's distracting. Hope this helps. :-) |

Batteries not necessary.by grandmarginalComment: Should've left the knife red or used a different brand. Other than that I like the items chosen, but composition has a big hole in the center that seemd out of place. |

Old Ironby DiscraftComment: Angle's probably wrong - seems like a different angle (side, broader) would make it more obvious what it is. |

The Most Basic Light Sourceby typologicComment: I sat here and stared at this for a minute or two cuz I couldn't decide what to think about it. It meets the challenge, it has great symmetery in composition, good depth. I can't put my finger on it, but I would call this a really good photo that 'could' be a really great photo. Again I'm not sure why. Still a top placer in my list. |

Low Tech Water Pumpby IntelliComment: Water pump? I thought that was an emergency Roulette wheel used when the Valley was flooded. ;-)
Good shot - one just like it I saw earlier. I liked the other one a bit better, but this is up there. :) |

DNA fingerprinting made finger prints low tech,by NRRonComment: Too much explanation in the title, but I understand you have to get people to get it. Maybe it just sounds too redundant. I think simply "DNA replaces fingerprints" = maybe not technically accurate, but people would get it.
Regarding the pic - this concept should been played out in a crime scene type of staging. This lookes like a giant fingerprint patterned shower curtain. |

Spanky Giving Buckwheat's Wagon a Tune-Up by cpurserComment: More llike loosening the axle on Alfalfa's wagon so he can have Darla all to himself! ;-) Very nice pic. I like the selective desat, the cropping, the subject. One minor flaw might be the bill of the ball cap makes a white line that follows the line of the boy's neck and makes the boy's image look comp'd in. A better title would help the Challenge subject also - i.e. "Life before Game Boy" or something like that. ;-) Definitely a top pick for me though! |
