There are few better expressions of love than the sincere effort to show how beautiful another person is in your eyes...

As to the picture, it looks pretty nice, but I will say that I think your cyans are a fair bit too hot... I'm seeing strong cyan tones in the leaves... If you want to keep the color strength, try a selective hue shift... it will reduce her 'pop' from the BG though...

Because this isn't basic editing, you could also do the same thing with an adjustment layer and black out the area of her shirt...

Damned fine shot! Definitely underrated. Great choice of color for the background as it complements her eyes very well.

A couple of things that might help:

Try seeing how it looks to bring her away from the wall by a few feet. It might help to eliminate some shadows and make her 'pop' a little more.

Try pushing your exposure up just a hair (+1/3 stop?)

Of course, I like the 'look up' thing too.. There's lots of hidden beauty in that suggestion...

For tips on using adjustment layers, I learned a bucketload from www.radiantvista.com and their video tutorials... SO helpful! You will NEVER go back. Start with the big 130MB one..

I then made an action to create all those layers for me and I just choose which one I want to play with... I usually do layers, curves for midtone contrast, curves for color casts and hue/saturation.

Hey dude, have you tried to use the pillowcase as a large diffuser?

Try this:

Get a big clear bag (suitable for the size of the pillowcase), inflate with air and tie off.

Place it inside the pillowcase with the tie on the side so the light can enter unobstruted, but the light that exits forwards also doesn't get affected..

This should make the light source even larger and softer.

and weaker of course :)

good creativity!

I actually kinda like this crop... I just wish that the hand could have been somehow not centered... Can't think of how I would have cropped it differently though...

The focus is maybe a tiny bit off... I would have preferred it with the focus on the hand... The softness is just a tiny bit much.

Incidentally, this is one of my favorites from the series. Very soft and sweet.

What a way to make something great out of something kinda drab.

I do have to say that something about the person looks a bit like it might be a cardboard cutout, but the rest of the pic put this one as one of my favorites in the challenge. Sad about your score, but understandable I guess.
