Bird Bathby ElaineComment: I'm sure everyone will say the same thing about the crop here. The focus on reflection shots is tricky. I got some fun ones myself when my mother picked some inky cap mushrooms and didn't use them before they melted to ink.
Your focus in the reflection is good enough to make out detail in the trunk of the tree and in the wood of the birdhouse... A bit too much is left of the background in the top left corner and because of the odd focal length used, it is in focus and is distracting.
Nice concept though. |

Nature Garden Artby trainComment: Wow! I can't think of anything to say. That's usually good :) I really like the way this picture is bright. So many others would have tried to put a dark cast on it and it may have been a great picture too, but it wouldn't have been the same. This is a picture about brightness, lightness, creative workmanship and interesting design.
A bit too much is sliced off the right side. I would have cropped down another millimeter to get the top horizontal slat off on the top right.
Fine work. Good eye. Glad you were quick to shutter, but slow to broom. |

protective limbsby mesmerajComment: Wicked Tim Burton cue. Fine lighting, the teensiest bit too bright on the hand on the left which is almost totally immatterial. Superb use of shadow and maybe makeup on the eyes.
Technically near perfect. Creatively outstanding. |

Branch Armorby ronaldibayComment: Hmm. If I remember correctly, the presence of acacia (?) often indicates the presence of fire ants... Been a while since I've been to a beach like that though.
This pic is excellent. The only things I would like to see better would perhaps be the inclusion of more on the left and the focusing on the tip of a thorn instead of where the twig is broken.
Sweet colour though. |

On and Off TheTracksby HRoxasComment: Visual cue to branch - Check.
Sharp lines and good dynamic range with high contrast causing a dynamic image - Check.
Nicely done. I think I would have liked a tiny bit more of the left-most track I wonder if a dark border might have created a bit of illusion to help this? |

Radiantby admart01Comment: Nice use of colours. A little too much light. This is a palm branch, but I must say that the picture is of leaves. Skirting the edges of the challenge definition here. |

EATING AT THE "Y"by medinfo2000Comment: Weird pic. I keep thinking I can see where the DOF is, but it's soft in weird places to my eyes. Great choice of subject and background. It always helps to have a green caterpillar walking on a red branch eating green leaves.
Too bad about the plastic bag (?) in the bottom of the pic. Not a 10, but it's quite good. |

Submergedby InnaNComment: Yup, they are branches alright. If I may add some unskilled comments.
1. looks like the horizon is a little tilted. I suspect it is closer than it looks, but the line on the tree near center is making me feel that it's about two degrees too far clockwise. There is a tutorial for fixing that on this website.
The picture seems to lack a subject. I can't tell if you want me to look at the tall tree (which is off center and off thirds) or the branch sticking out of the water (which is on thirds - ish, but blanketed in darkness.
Landscape pictures are usually intended to have a lot in focus and it appears that this pic does not have good focus on much. I hit this with a contrast jump and an auto levels in PS. It helped a bit.
I wonder if it might have been possible to slide a bit more to the right and get the elements in the shot composed slightly differently. Maybe move downwards? Tough call, I don't know if you were on the shoreline or in a boat...
