 Macro of radiating Iris leaves Didn't like the hot spot but cropping it out took away some of the interesting branching.

Cropped, adjusted levels, saturation. Applied Neatimage, added a thin border. Saved for the web.

Looked at this several times during voting and since..... wanting to like it and am not completely convinced. I love the subject & idea - simple natural, five (I like the uneaven number shown) fanned fonds. As you say the composition may be compromised by cropping or an alternative - just the simplicity of the editing is not enough to make this shine like it should.

The colors you used are nice and I like the way the light is hitting that one spot. But I think the highlight of each leaf seems washed out.

Nice use of colours. A little too much light. This is a palm branch, but I must say that the picture is of leaves. Skirting the edges of the challenge definition here.

The fronds are like fingers. I like the yellowy green getting darker as it reaches the top. Nice macro and a bit different from the millions of boring shots I've seen so far. The "hot spot" on the middle one at the top is a tad distracting.

Great idea. the lighting is a bit blown on one area but for me that's fine. The crop could be tighter to get rid of that red highlight at the bottom right. I like this image. It appeals to me very much. 7
