How would this look if you desaturated the the mirrors and kept her in colour? I like the idea of this a lot, but there seems to be something missing.

Maybe select out the left reflection and try to make that a bit brighter?

Salut from the critique club!

The chief (pun intended :P) problem with this picture I find is that your subject matter does not stand out. You have a nice depth of focus with the wooden beams in the foreground, the bridge and the truck. However, because of this DOF, it is not clear if the wooden beams are the subject, the nridge, or the truck. After reading your title, I realize you intended the bridge to be the main focus.

Composition wise, it works nicely. The rule of thirds, works nicely here, with the bridge and wooden beams follwoing the rule.

It seems as though you took this picture during the afternoon when the sun is at it's strongest. If you haven't, I'd check out the excellent mentorship
thread on landscape. Bear_music discusses how just the time of day can have a major impact on your picture. In this case, I think a twilight or sunrise would give this picture more dynamic. Right now, it tends to be a touch on the flat side.

If you go back to shoot this bridge, I'd take a look at composing the picture a little differently. Zooming closer to the bridge if possible, or moving so the wood is in a different place, or not in the picture at all.

In your notes, you don't mention use of levels or curves, and I think that is another thing that will help give this picture a bit more oomph.

With just a few tweaks, this picture could have much more impact. You are on the right track, so keep shooting!

Cheers

Very nice. I just wish that blue tinge wasn't in the bottom corners, or that it was in the top corners. It feels a touch off balance
