Lovely image. Most have probably said there is no proof of the candle here but I really like the image. The lighting is a little hot on the left side of the blub but not a bother. I like that I can see some of the table grain, really nice. The simple white frame helps keep your eyes in the image and complements it nicely. Good luck. |

Love the concept of this image and I think you pulled most of it off quite nicely. I like the lighting and can get an instant feel for what it is, even without looking at the title but there is something bothering me with the back of his head. I can't tell if that is part of his hat or what. Maybe less lighting there would help hide it, not sure. Great image all in all, good luck.

I like the red glow on the face but the candle appears to be a little out of focus, that could be just because of the exposure but not sure. Good luck.

Oops! Just Missedby amsterComment: finally an image that captured something too late and I'm on page 3 of the entries! Most would probably say it has to be sharper but this adds to the idea that you were hurrying and just missed it. Good job and good luck. |

Racing the Self-Timerby talmyComment: At first when I saw your title I thought of the Too Late challenge thinking you were too late getting to the chair but then decided it could be Too Early since the camera clicked before you got there. Good job. One of the very very few that actually captured the spirit of the challenge and snapped the picture too early. Good lighting and setup, would have liked a little motion blur to make it really look like you were in a rush but still a good image. Good luck. |

Split Secondby RikkiComment: First one I've seen that actually followed the details of shooting the picture too early. Great job. I like the layout and action/motion in it. Good luck. |

Chuloby ajschelComment: I am no expert on grain and couldn't enter or vote on the members challenge but here is my $.02 (probably worth less).
Not sure if there is a big difference between grain and noise (I would think so). I look at the image and I see multi-colored noise, mind you it isn't a lot of colors but I see enough to say it is not just grain and others that voted may have thought the same.
It is a good picture with good detail and lighting, focus and DOF but also doesn't hold my interest for an extended amount of time. I vote higher on images that make me stop and look at the entire picture and really amaze me.
Sorry you didn't do as well as you hoped...this is the story of my life over and over again. :o) |
