An appealing image that meets the challenge well
A very pleasing landscape with excellent still reflections, however, I find the right foreground really quite distracting. The small ripple at the base of the frame is also quite distracting. I think this would have been stronger if you could have excluded both of these perhaps by moving along to the right and pointing the camera down to crop most of the sky and include the water right up to the foreground thereby emphasising the feeling of space and also making the very most of those wonderful reflections. |

Woah Ronnie, that egret done you plenty good again, congratulations. What a great entry, the long patient wait for both of you reflects a quiet atmosphere to its fullest. I have to agree this subdued image would seem to me to be far more fitting than the potential sunny image would have been. You must be well pleased with this but even more excited at the potential imagery you and your new lens have to look forward toâ€Â¦! |

An appealing image that does not meet the challenge
Although you have a pleasing composition, I feel this is more of a landscape with water than what the challenge should be about a waterscape, i.e., where the water dominates the image. What I think could have worked a lot better would have been to go in really close to the water with a wide angle lens and really make that water dominate the scene. I think the section just before the bend at the right angle and close enough you could have made that look like a giant waterfallâ€Â¦? |

I like your low viewpoint Janine that puts an emphasis on the foreground water, I think without this it would struggle as a waterscape given the prominence of the rocky surroundings, as it is they are still rather too dominating. The motion of the water is about right plenty of motion but not so much as all detail is lost, a pleasing balance. A pleasing image, thanks Janine. |

Congratulations Ronnie, a well deserved ribbon. Another lovely image, the strong focal point of the egret in the most appropriate hotspot is what makes this impressive image really stand out. I also particularly like the distorted reflection and the mist adds a real atmosphere and calmness against the birds hunting tension. Well done Ronnie. |

Great idea Susan. I can sense your frustration, it can take us completely by surprise how fundamental issues can be overlooked like that. Anyhow, apart from that you still got a good top ten placing which speaks volumes for the strength of the concept and the image itself so well done.
You̢۪ve hit on a pet hate of mine of how absorbed people are with their mobile devices they are completely oblivious to everything else around them including people! And as for not looking up I̢۪m not at all surprised how you remained hidden from view, you know where to go if you want some seclusion! |

Susan as we’ve never seen her before! Nice one, it looks as though your yoga is progressing nicely. I like everything about this and it fits the challenge theme very well. Your hair and the hat adds a lovely sense of mystery to it all. Such dedication 100 crows, wow! Good luck with the handstandsâ€Â¦ |

Your title may well be the name of the place if so, it is very appropriate. The scene looks very tranquil and peaceful, the sort of place you would like to while away the time at. Your composition is good with the road leading you into the farm below in an inviting sort of way. Although the lighting is quite frontal you have quite a nice 3D effect. It all works very well, well seen and captured Janine |

A great image Jonathon. Ok, so we don̢۪t have perfect symmetry but you have made a very good job of what must have been a difficult situation. What makes the image work so well is the clarity of detail and what a lot of interesting detail there is to absorb. The overall exposure is good the colours are well saturated against the near pastels of the plainer (if such a word can be used here!) surfaces. A great job, well done |

This is a nice piece of observation, you feel as though you are peering into their secret world. Your composition is good it shows off the building in which they are working to advantage with lots of interesting detail. I like your mono processing there is a good range of tones and the exposure itself is all good. A nice piece of work, thanks for sharing Michelle. |
