I agree with Mist. I think that the background wasn't far enough out of focus for the DPC voters. One thing I've noticed is that they take everything literally. I think this is a great candid shot that shows what her daily life is like.

I can tell you what your biggest problem with photography is: You take shots that require the voters to think. How dare you! DPC doesn't deal well with that. So my advice to you is KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I think this is a nice shot and the DOF is great but I think it could be a bit sharper on the tip of the nose.
