1M8H2860.jpgby Mal37Comment: the first two in the pitching sequence work fine, but toss this one...no face. with pitchers, if you don't have the face, you've got to have something else that makes the shot (like the ball on the fingertips). likewise, go on and crop in tighter. your first one would make a strong vertical as all that space doesn't do anything. |

Icarus Rising by NeilComment: looks like somebody found they could take pictures that didn't involve rocks, boulders, or waterfalls ;-)

Practiceby MadMan2kComment: yeah, you could work with this in post a bit more to make her pop, and possible a tighter crop to keep her head from getting lost in all that water. i wouldn't have shot it with flash, though. |

Turnby MadMan2kComment: crop tighter. also, don't be afraid to get your camera a little closer to the subject. |

Diveby MadMan2kComment: for this shot, prefocus on the top far edge of the closest block, then move the focus out just a bit further so that the focus will be where she's diving. as for exposure, meter off the middle of the pool and adjust your settings manually; that way you'll avoid the light coming through the window throwing off your exposure. it doesn't matter if the window light is blown out as long as the first diver is exposed correctly. it's a nice composition. keep at it. |
