this or thatby mitalapoComment: nice graphic, but it's subtlety probably won't get the meeting-the-challenge votes... |

Gone to Ruinsby kiwinickComment: in terms of meeting the challenge, yes, this is an abandoned building. but the processing just doesn't work for me. way too muddy. and other than the building being abandoned, there's no real subject for me to take interest. what do you want me to see that would keep me attention? |

hopeby HUETHComment: great find, great subject, but i think you missed the composition and processing. as is, being off-balanced and eye-level, it doesn't really hold my attention. i like the black and white, but it seems in some areas a bit muddy and over-sharpened in others.
these are by no means perfect, but take a look to get an idea as to what i'm talking about. retired monster |

Long Forgottenby DCrest01Comment: what a wonderful subject. not sure that the composition is working for me, though. the leading lines are quickly taking me out of the image, rather than through it. and they're leading me right into a serious glare. and the eye-level perspective is just a bit too pedestrian. maybe if you had shot it from the far right, and either higher or lower, you would have made a more compelling image.
love the colors, though.

Years Gone Byby LydiaComment: this works. could possibly play with the processing a bit. maybe less contrasty? maybe some detail inside, just to draw you in and arrest my attention a bit more? all the same, one of the better images i've come across in this challenge. |

Neglected by markwileyComment: first impression was 'not a fan of the processing'...
didn't get much further than that. |

profit - peopleby streetpigeonComment: ok, i'll bite. why did you choose this angle? the lines lead me out of the frame. was it just not possible to get square up behind it? why not center your subject (assuming that it's the 'Buy American')? not sure this needed the added grunge, but that's subjective. not sure about the title, either; maybe "Buy-gone Daze" or something scalvert-like. |

Run Downby bjoernComment: meets the challenge, but the curiosity it raises isn't as much in the image as in what else could have been photographed. |
