Comfortingby DianaBComment: Nice lighting, good detail, contrast and color. Is that a kleenex the dummy is holding? You take a nice image, why not take it of something other than dummies? You also need slightly better lighting on that bear's foot; I think I just figured out that it says, "Softest", which would be a reference to the kleenex or toilet paper? Ok, I'll leave it at 4, but I wanted to give the dummy a 3. (Hate those dummies...) |

Phone touchby morpurgoComment: This just really is so out of focus that I can't get past that part. If it were in focus, and demonstrating touch - maybe I could buy it. But, even then it would probably be a so-so subject from my viewpoint. But, who am I to criticize - I didn't even enter this challenge. Good luck with it. |

I'm Number Oneby bobdaveantComment: Nicely stopped, but the overall image suffers from being too dark and having too much distracting detail in the background. I would get higher, shoot down and maybe use some fill flash also. That's just my opinion, and I could be wrong. Good luck with the challenge. |

Last One In's a Rotten Eggby TuckersmomComment: Really hard to tell what is happening with this image. But, I DO have to hold my nose to observe it. :-) Whatever is happening doesn't infer much motion - except one little drip thing on the top of the egg, some ooze that may be coming out of it, and the possibility that gravity is at work. If I were trying to work with a similar subject, I might have tried to drop it on a hard surface and catch the cracking and splattering - maybe some mid-air drops or pieces - something to show that you had really stopped motion. Anyway, that's just my opinion. Good luck with the challenge. |

Here's My Paw!by dphillipsComment: Well, maybe there was some motion - the left front paw? Anyway, that's the part that is out of focus. Nice eyes and face, both color-wise and focus-wise. I'd like to see much more indication of movement - maybe jumping or something? And then REALLY stop it - no motion, PURR-fect focus, great detail. Every hair showing. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Good luck in the challenge. |

Coming in Lowby jbsmithanaComment: Pretty bird - stopped pretty well also. Except for the edges of the left wing which look kinda soft. Unfortunately, the overall image just lacks something for me. It seems so cluttered and unpretty compared to the bird - and as a result, it detracts from the image. Get lower, shoot up, and use the sky for a background. Just my thoughts. Good luck with the challenge. |

Around the world in 80 daysby GordonComment: The problem for me with this image is that I know those balloons were moving, but not very fast and they're pretty far away from the photographer. That means you could have totally stopped them with a shutter speed of 1/16th of a second or less. To me, stopped motion would have been something that, even when stopped, infers motion - and it probably took 1/250th of a second or faster to accomplish. Just my opinion. Good luck with the challenge. |

Back Yard Funby Crafty SueComment: Ok, you stopped the motion. That's good. Now you have to work on getting focus or correcting whatever gave you all the grain. In addition, if you were slightly higher and aimed down, you could eliminate the intrusive background subjects which detract from the overall image. That's just my opinion. Good luck with the challenge. |

Walking on waterby arngrimurComment: If you had been able to capture the wings all the way up, this would have rated a lot higher with me. As it is, I wonder what the rest of the bird looked like. And, the top of that which I CAN see seems very soft. I really like the colors and the contrast though. Good luck with the challenge. |

If I Could Just Reach That Spot . . .by KylieComment: I know there is some motion here, both from the bird and from the water. I just am not attracted to the image. It has this big brown area intruding on the lower left and the actual duck is really hard to "see". It is only after really struggling with it that you realize that is it's RIGHT eye and the head is inverted over on it's side to be scratched. And the brown part toward the back of the duck seems out of focus. It's just not a comfortable image for me to ponder. Good luck in the challenge, though. |
