Though I do not do portraits myself, I have great appreciation when they are done well and this is the case here. I would challenge anyone to dismiss this from being a ribbon contender. I'd say this is one of only a handful of images I've every given a 9 and it deserves it. I hope you enjoy the blue ribbon!

Excellent composition. The colors are vibrant and the expression is sincere and engaging of the challenge theme. I would have preferred to drop her a little lower into the frame if that was at all an option. It would have made her appear to have been standing and captured more of her hair. Other than that, top 10 for sure. Good luck!

Firstly, I really dig your frame as it adds to this theatrical submission. Since you went to the effort anyhow, a leaf blower may have kicked up some of the leaves on the ground that betrayed your subject. No need to worry as the betrayal was weak and you walk away with a 7 from me. Good luck!
