The Curseby soccerdadComment: I hope this is not lost on too many DPC'ers. I think you did a creative job interpreting the theme. Perhaps the red channel is a bit oversaturated but doesn't significantly detract from the quality of the picture. Well done. |

Shattered Dreamsby BeetleComment: I hope this is staged. Tough theme in this pic, but very appropriate. Great use of selective desat. Tastefully executed. |

spiritby jmritzComment: This picture gives me the creeps. The bright area directly above the woman's head appears ominous and threatening somehow. I don't know what it is, and that perhaps contributes to it. The flat, emotionless expression on her face contributes as well.
Overall I get a gestalt about this photo, but I cannot connect the dots, so to speak, as I am at a loss how to identify the specifics of exactly what you're trying to convey. Maybe if I mull it over for an hour or two, I'll be able to stumble across it. :) |

Solar Explosionby terjeComment: Good stop motion. I like the background but I wish it was cleaner. While the sharpness is adequate, I think the focus/lens was not quite razor sharp. |

Drivenby bpickardComment: Ouch! Such a beautiful automobile, too. I love the exposure and the motion blur. Delicious irony (motion vs. busted windshield). The soft focus effect is quite pleasing. |

Neglected and Run Downby HeavyComment: This image has nice pleasing dimensions demarcated by the horizon. Love the colors in the sky and I feel you did a good job with the post processing. Technically sound photograph. If I were to nitpick, there is just a slight blooming at the tree edges against the sky, which is subtle enough not to detract from the beauty of this image. |

splat!by sidpixelComment: Nice use of backlighting to give this image extra interest. Love the honey like appearance of the egg white. |

Inner Lightby stragsComment: Revisiting.
Love the hues in this shot. The burning filament is also a spectacular effect. I imagine the timing must have been quite tricky. Is the yellow halo a postprocessed effect or was it light from the dying bulb? In any event, quite spectacular. :)
Technically very sound. Artistically as stated above. Bumping up. |

Don't Lean on the Railingby trnqltyComment: The snow adds a lot of interest to this shot. I would have preferred if the footprints were not quite as busy. Does not seriously detract from the beauty of this image, and perhaps that was unavoidable. :)
Other suggestions: This one appears to be straightforward B&W. To add to a more omnious mood which I think you are trying to create with your title, I think a steel blue duotone would benefit your cause.
A circular gradient fill to spotlight the the broken railing would also add a visual cue for the viewer, and subtle burning of the bottom of the steps and wooden 2x8's would also add to the drama.
