Rainforest Rock Poolby NodeComment: Interesting shot... the colors seem to make this a busy shot, almost like it is over saturated. Using a faster shutter speed or negative (-) exposure comp might have calmed this down enough to save the hot highlights on the leaves in the upper right, the entire shot would have been darker but it is easier to bring the levels up in an editing program than darken areas with no detail. As it is I might have desaturated it a bit or brought the green channel down a little to give it a more natural feel and give a little pop to the darker areas. |

Excalibur!by ImagineerComment: Excellet Tones, Clarity and detail. One of my picks. You took a mundane challange topic and made it visually pleasing. The close in tight crop works well here. good luck. |

"The Rock" (Alcatraz, San Francisco, CA)by bryanbrazilComment: Excellent shot of "The Rock", I haven't seen that place in years. Anyways, great composition, excellent clarity (looks like you got some L glass there). I like the lighting of the foreground and Island, I would like to see a little more color in the sky but I know how tough it is to pull this shot off. Excellent Job. One of my picks. |

Scissors Beat Paperby cheekymunkyComment: Technically sound, creative and well executed shot. One of my picks thus far. Don't tak this the wrong way (it's that attention to detail thing I have going) but clean up cuticals on the hand and you got yourself a wicked stock photo or poster. The whites around the finger nails just seem to jump out at me. |

Reflection of the Rockby prbettsComment: This is an excellent shot with a lot of color, detail and sharpness. I like it a lot. However as there is a horizontal waterline I would have straightened this along that line just below the base of the mountains. First glance the picture seems to be tilted to the right. Technically sound shot otherwise. Good job. |

N formed by distorted reflectionby nrulkovComment: Wow sure looks like BURT (big ugly red thing) has someone has been in my neighborhood, actually I work just a couple blocks up the hill...
Very cool shot, looks like you got some O's in there as well. I might have cropped it a little tighter...at least on the right side...it gets a little busy on the right and draws my attention that direction. Good Shot. |

Caught in the Actby saiphfireComment: Really quite an interesting shot. Two things that I might have done for this shot, beings this is a basic challenge I would have removed the box in the background prior to the shot as it is somewhat distracting. The other I would have cropped to just barely cropped the chair out on the right and just before (edge) of the light, removing the distractions on both sides would draw attention back to the dog. Cool concept. |

On The Path to Harmonyby taterbugComment: Cool shot...would have worked a little better if the bridge and tail piece were in focus. Also the reflection (or tear in the clear coat) bottom left is a tad bit distracting. I like the color scheme on your axe, pretty neat. Very good composition. |

Spentby pmichaudComment: Pretty cool flower. Sharp and in focus. For me the lighting seems a tad bit harsh (shadow under the center petal) making the flower almost too sharp. When using the On Camera flash to tone it down a bit in situations like this, I hold a clear tupperware lid right over the (on camera) flash to soften (warm) the light a bit ...it works in a pinch. If I'm using my home rig (I really don't have anything) I will shine (spot) a desklamp or clamp light through a white sheet (as close to the subject as you can get it) onto the subject giving that warm feel and softening it up a bit. Just my thoughts...
