Sunset Waveby SondaComment: One of my favorites so far -- a visual feast. Great DOF from the foreground rocks to the lovely crashing wave in the back. The light on the water is gorgeous.
The only think I don't like are those unnatural looking black clouds that pull my eyes away up to the corners. |

Driftwoodby orussellComment: Shot on another day with more interesting clouds I this would have something. The contrast of the sharp prickly wood with a backdrop of fluffy clouds would be nice.
Here the composure of the sky is distracting to me, with the band of dark and band of light -- the photo feels a bit top heavy with those upper dark clouds I guess. I know that's not your fault, since you don't control the weather. But it might be a nice photo to reshoot another day.
I think the clarity and tonal range on the dead wood itself is great. Nice job. |

Next Exitby TelehubbieComment: I like this one but I think I'd like it better with a different background. The negative space is good, but the solid white is kinda boring. With the palm tree print on the packaging, I picture these sitting on a picnic table with a backdrop of blue ocean and sky -- still largely monotone and empty but less dull. Maybe that would work, maybe not. Just an idea...
That melty cheese is making me hungry. Proves it is an effective ad!!
Good job. |

It's 9 o'clock. Do you know where your children are?by DamianComment: I think the photo itself is great. Your title isn't doing much for me though. I'd have made it a billboard ad for a children's hospital, or a daycare center... I'd find it a very convincing billboard for something like that.
So high score from me, but short of perfect. Hope that makes sense to you! |

Veneziaby ImagineerComment: That's beautiful. I wish the boat at the bottom wasn't cropped off though. Maybe it's intact in the non-billboard sized original?
Not entirely convinced I see this as a billboard advertisement, but it's a lovely photo nonetheless. |

Oregon - We Love Dreamers by MickComment: And that's really an advertising slogan used here isn't it? (I'm also from Oregon.)
Lovely as usual Zoomdak. ETA: Oops. I guess it isn't him afterall. Another Oregonian though... Thinking I need to get myself out to the coast at sunset one of these days for a shiny sand reflection shot. ;) |
