Shift workerby IreneMComment: Great pose and facial expression, great lighting. I'd like to see a little bit of background to get a better feel of where he is. 7 |

The Tree Doctorby dainmcgowanComment: All signs point to IR on this one. But the fact that you've got me second guessing is a really good thing. I'm curious to see who took this shot. |

Goin' to the Chapel...by slide12345678Comment: Whoa. You're good. I'd like to leave something constructive, but I can't really figure out what to say. Sorry, I guess you'll just have to deal with a long-winded comment saying that I like you're photo and that I'm giving you a good score. |

Paul by wildirisComment: 1) First time I saw this shot I thought to myself "what am I looking through?"
2) Then I took a look with my girlfriend. She thought "where is the camera?"
3) Then we talked about it and she brought up the excellent point that this is EXACTLY what Paul sees when he's on the job, day in day out.
I'd say all of these elements combine into a pretty amazing environmental portrait. The fact that I've seen the shot several times but it still intrigues me is worthy of an excellent score. |

Carpenter Chrisby naomikComment: Sweet photo. The only criticism I have is that the bracelet, being brighter than most everything else in the shot, is somewhat distracting. |

The stand-up comicby burtctComment: Good lighting and interesting composition. But there is nothing here that tells me this guy is a stand-up comic. So in short, the photo is lacking the basic part of an env. portrait - the environment itself. |

The Principalby scarbrdComment: If you're inspiration for the photo was "the teacher" from the previous env. portrait challenge, then I would have to say there was a slight lack of creativity to the shot. On the other hand, if that's not the case, then I would have to say good work in creating an effective env. portrait. It's a nice shot regardless, of course. |

Chefby litboltiComment: What catches my attention the most are the pots above the flame. Although they're nice and crisp, they take my eye away from the main subject. Still really like the photo. |

Late Nightsby zaflaboutComment: You did a good job at catching my eye. If this is not tonemapped (the basic editing version of course), then I'm really curious how it's done. Everything just stands out in this photo.. I like. 8 |
