First of all; let me say that I checked out your portfolio when this challenge was over and was thoroughly impressed with your success right out of the gate. It's obvious that you are very talented; and I predict that you are going to continue submitting unusual and interesting images for our enjoyment.

The first thing that struck me about this image was how the title enhances it. The "diary" is animated, and indeed, appears to be flying. On it's own, it might not be that captivating; however, the sunrise in BG and reflecting from the pages really adds the color and warmth that makes this image "pop". DOF, focus...everything is spot-on.

If I had to think of a nitpick, I guess it would be the finger at the left. Honestly though, I didn't even see it until I had been looking for a very long time.

Excellent work. And congratulations on your ribbon! I'm envious:)

Beaucoup de Bokeh

I fall into the camp of people who find the flower in foreground a bit distracting. I feel this way because I'm so interested in the great detail and gorgeous colors going on right behind it. I can't say enough about how much I like the range and vibrancy of the colors!

I do appreciate the unique approach at composition. The shape and scale of the flower in FG is repeated by the tree in BG which creates a sense of balance. As well as the diagonal placement of those elements, which makes a dynamic composition.

You have clearly striven to define BOKEH with this image; and although I'm not crazy about the white "blob", I do think you have succeeded.

That's unique and creative. Nice focus and interesting lighting. Compositionally, the crop of the bottle lip is a detractor, IMHO. Lot's of potential for this image. Brings back memories of watching someone pick up one of these and take a swig.
