bloemby crayonComment: I'd love to know what plant this is. It is very similar to the blooms of my elephant ear. Because of this I have a great deal of respect for your technique. I tried, unsuccesfully, to get a decent image and couldn't get the contrast right. You've done a great job of representing the texture and light in this image. Nice work! |

Kumo Mountain Faceby BHusemanComment: Incredible image and story. Your photographer's notes add so much to this shot. I found myself trying to imagine the struggle of climbing or even existing in such an environment. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful place. |

What not to wearby jblaylockraynerComment: Congrats on your 4th place and newspaper publication! Looks like you are off to a great start here at DPC! This image confounded me and got my imagination going as I tried to figure out exactly how and what you did. After seeing the story about it on Yahoo, I saw your profile and realized that you are in LA; and figured it must be yours. I'm not real crazy about the idea of painting animals and making them stand inside for hours like that; but that's not your doing, and I didn't hold it against you in the scoring. You got an 8 from me. |

"Man, THERE'S an old-timer with one foot in the wastebasket!"by robinssongComment: Robin,
This is such a great recreation of a really funny cartoon. As you wondered whether or not I made my set from scratch (which I did), I was also curious as to whether or not you created your faces on the pencils. Very clever and well done. I revisited this image frequently and giggled each time. Nice work! |

Imagination Beach, Mauiby SunnieeComment: This is so pure and breathtaking. My first thought at seeing the thumbnail was something like "This is probably one of those plain old beach shots", then I opened it and thougth "Wow!". I love that it has no subject. The subject becomes whatever is stirred in my imagination by the sparkling, clean beauty of this image. Nice work! |

"I wandered lonely as a cloud" -Wordsworthby posthumousComment: I popped in to thank you for your comment on my image and realized that you took this shot. I absolutely loved it and gave it a 9 during voting. It's beautifully done and has such a nice ethereal quality. I was especially captivated by the light and the texture of the grass. Great work! And thanks again for your comment. |
