Very fun photo. Your composition and the expression on the hippo are great. Nice work in tough shooting conditions (through glass & water) as well. You should definitely take advantage of the full 640pixel size that DPC allows for challenge submissions, as this shot is showing up really small on my 19" monitor at 1280x1024 resolution. Also play with the levels and curves in post processing to help create more contrast and emphasize detail in your subject (shooting through water lends itself to soft/low contrast photos). Just my opinion, nice shot nonetheless. Good luck!

Love the composition used here. Good detail and focus throughout the shot. IMHO the lollipops seem a tad overexposed. Perhaps bracketing down the exposure a notch or adjusting in the RAW stage to improve contrast would have added to the shot? Just my opinion, nice shot nonetheless.... 8

Nice detail and focus on the eyes and good DOF. I like the unconventional perspective you've chosen here too and the reds are showing brilliantly on my monitor as well. IMHO the shot seems a tad overexposed. Maybe bracketing your exposure down a notch or adjusting in the RAW stage to bring out more of the color saturation in the yellows and the child's face would have added to the photo? Just my opinion, nice shot nonetheless.... 7

Nice still life. I like the colors and high-key effect here. IMHO the shot could have had the same impact with a little less negative space. Maybe a tighter shot/more crop to weight the subject heavier in the composition would have added to the shot? Also, the areas of reflection/over-exposure on the fruits gives the lighting a slightly harsh feel. But cloning outside of the challenge can correct that easily. Just my opinion, nice shot nonetheless

Nice color saturation on the reds here. Looks like exposure is good with no over-exposed areas on the lights.

Nice macro. I love the detail and focus on the purple flower here. The color saturation is showing intensly on my monitor as well. The one thing I found distracting is the artifacts/bleeding apparent around the purple flower and some of the leaves. I'm going to take a guess (and I could be way off here) and guess its a remnant of using layers/paint brush tools in p-shop? Just my opinion, nice shot nonetheless
