Ok. The problem with this picture is that if it were not for the title the viewer would not have any idea that he/she is supposed to see some patterns here. The title suggests that we should be looking at, possibly, patterns of the ripples made by the water. But if so, the little kid in the picture is distracting, the focus of the composition is certainly not on ripples. Which leads me to believe that the picture is really a vacation type snapshot and the dubious pattern in the picture is just an afterthought. Just my take on this (4)

There are quite a few pictures in this challenge showing nature's patterns with varying degree of success. This one is one of the better ones, due to its simplicity. I think it would work even better if you could get even closer to the leaf and get rid of the redundant (and slightly out of focus) branch to the right. Good try nevertheless (7)
