Hypnoticby elsapoComment: Hypnotic is a good title. I like how the light and shadows in the image just pull you right into those eyes. |

Beatiful One Day Perfect The Nextby BrianRComment: There's some color banding going on here (watch the colors as they circle outward towards the edges). Most likely the image is shot in jpeg mode and then individual colors (rather than all colors) were boosted in a hue/sat layer (or equivalent).
Ways to fight banding: 1) Shoot in raw, edit in 16-bit mode, 2) boost all colors (or at least adjacent colors, e.g. both blue & cyan together), 3) don't boost the color so much, 4) sometimes NeatImage (or equivalent) can cause it, so watch the color output, 5) sometimes reducing the image size for web can cause it (best bet is PhotoShop's "Save for Web").
Hope the tips help... |

Golden Indian Princessby NeuferlandComment: Maybe you blurred it to soften it? But instead it feels out of focus and with too much contrast (her hair simply disappears into blackness). |

Early Morning at the Capitalby khdossComment: I always love blue on yellow, or vice versa. No exception here. And the reflection just doubles my pleasure. :-) This has to have been a long exposure, so it's amazing how calm the waters were. Your subject is centered, rather than rule of thirds. Sometimes a no-no, but it works very well here with the trees framing the the reflection bringing overall balance to the image.

Just us threeby khdossComment: Love this. If it was posed, it's an awesome idea. Probably a candid moment though, in which case, way to go for being ready for the shot!

HK4.jpgby Patents4uComment: Hate to be a dissenter, but.... for me this is just too busy. Too hard to look at because there is so much going on in the image. It leaves the guy barely noticeable. Even worse, the buildings may be in sharp focus, but look at the guy's face - he definitely is not.
It might be fine as an architectural piece ... but not as a wedding album image, it just doesn't look like the story is about him.
Just my two cents worth (and you can see I'm not in the majority, so take it for what it's worth). Message edited by author 2006-07-16 17:09:18. |
