I like it better with the trees. Adds a little familiar context, more of a skyscape feel.

Awesome shots of the waterspout, esp. for such a modest phone. Too bad indeed about not having a real camera!

Very nice job controlling for all the exposure elements: sharp lit crescent, earthshine, stars and Venus. Your pic was shot on January 20 2007, BTW, probably around 6:00 PM.

I'm at work where my monitor is not the best, but it looks overall a little too dark to me. Sunsets are a tough task where it's hard to get a good level of illumination without the sun becoming a blown mess. If you're using a recent version of Photoshop, try a little "shadows/highlights" to see if you can recover some detail from the darker areas.

I think a portrait like this really depends on the eyes to make it or break it. Since her eyes are too obscured by her expression, it loses something essential that could have really raised it to another level. I like the muted colors and her thoughtful expression. I wonder if you thought about tighter shots to her face, or even just framing it with the top of her head to the left arm? Lots of potential here, but not quite up to the transcendent level that many of these "character" studies seem to achieve.

For DPC old-timers, this is a theme that has proven its worth time and time again, yet you've brought a fresh look and feel to it. I love the golden hues and the overall colors. It's a stunner for sure. Great job, bumping up!
