WOW. This will either win hands down or the voters will consider it a cheat and vote low... This looks more like a calendar image than any other entry.. but it looks like an illustration and not a photo.. Hmmm... wouldn't like to say how this will do... tell you what, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt... 10

Excellent work.

risky in any challenge... but there is something about this shot that says 'Calendar' more than most of the other entries... good luck 10

Greetings from the Critique Club

Hi...

I'm glad I was assigned this image by the critique club. This is certainly a different take on the subject and it is good to see an injection of Humour.

I'm wondering if you thought that the image would do well in the challenge or not. 80th is a bit harsh IMO. There is definately a knack to entering 'winning' shots on DPC and as a contributor you need to decide whether to enter a challenge or not... Do you have a great idea and really strong image or do you just enter for the spirit of the challenge and hope for some contructive critique and useful comments even though you know the voters will probably low vote it.

If you look at my profile you will see that I have had mixed success.. mostly due to the fact that I can't decide whether to only submit when I am sure I have a great shot and therefore protect my average... or to just enter for the fun of it... and in some cases enter risky shots that might bomb or might do well...

Feedback:
Your image suffers a bit in technical execution. The on-camera (?) flash has caused harsh lighting on the foreground model and significant drop off to the back of the scene. (Which includes the challenge subject) - The idea is great and it looks like you had fun setting up and shooting, but unfortunately you will inevitably get lower marks because of the lighting. It would be very hard to properly light the scene without a studio lighting set.

I look forward to seeing more of your work...

Chris

Classic... I expected shots like this on this challenge... this is one of the best entries IMO

Feels slightly cramped composition.. but that adds to the mood IMO
