Surfing by microComment: Two South Africans on the front page! Bet you that's the first time THIS has happened at DPC.
Nice work, mate, fantastic capture!

Unwind by nico_blueComment: I reckon that without that small distracting element in the top right hand corner this photo would be just about perfect. This is another great entry from you, Nico, I'm really enjoying your work at the moment and looking forward to seein' more.
Nice one and congrats on the ribbon,

4-Teenby xcharrierComment: This is absolutely incredible, glad this finished so well but would have liked to see it finish a little higher. Unfortunately I missed this in the voting but it would have been a definite 8 or 9 from me.
Congrats on a fantastic capture. |

Washday bluesby geewhyComment: I didn't get around to commenting but I'm a little disappointed that this ended up all the way down here. Terrific feel to this shot and it was great to see something original against all the bugs and flowers out there.
I gave you an 8, at least you scored 6+ :)

Choose one !by HycindComment: Great simplicity, lovely colours. 8 from me because I like this sort of thing although I don't think most voters do.
I'm a sucker for minimalism and expansive negative spaces ;)

Young Sherlock Holmesby dsa157Comment: I like this take on the challenge, very creative. I would have perhaps made the DOF a little shallower here and tried to get the eye a little more centred. You've done fantastically well with your BG. Nice work and great idea.

Going Up?by mihaibadicComment: Would have maybe excluded the waterline from this shot, I like the colours though.
Pity you couldn't edit out those pesky dust specs. Nice and original take on the challenge.

Orange Attackby AlexSaberiComment: Lovely tones and interesting rhthym created here. Nice idea but I'm not so sure about the border. Might lessen the visual impace somewhat but I'm not too fussed about it. Nice to see someone put a little bit of effort into their entry :)
Perhaps a little oversaturated on the actual oranges, so much so that the detail on the lines seperating each segment is lost.
Good work, 8

Wet Circlesby roadrunnerComment: Is this roadrunner? I recognize the umbrella from a shot on your website
Apologies to the photographer if I'm mistaken :)
Anyhow, this is a well composed shot, I like how you've made your subject dark and unidentifiable placing most of the attention on the umbrella. I just wish that it wasn't a barbie umbrella ;)
Technically faultless IMO, not much I would have changed here apart from the brand name umbrella.
An 8 from me and good luck with the challenge

Farm Implementby nomad469Comment: Awesome shot, possibly would have gone with a shallower DOF if possible. Great rhythm created here and the tones are fantastic. I'm wondering what this would have looked like in colour? I can imagine it being absolutely incredbile in the right conditions, but pretty dull under the wrong ones.
Good luck for the challenge with your original and interesting entry.
